The Aga Khan’s improving home-bred Karaktar (3c High Chaparral-Karawana, by King´s Best) put in a career-best performance in the Listed Prix Francois Mathet at Saint-Cloud on Sunday.
The High Chaparral colt was making his seasonal comeback as he surged to a seven-length success in the extended 10-furlong contest.
Karaktar holds an entry in the G1 Prix du Jockey Club and the owner’s racing manager Georges Rimaud said that he would wait to speak to trainer Alain de Royer Dupre, who was in Dubai, before announcing future plans.
“Karaktar has progressed well,” Rimaud told JDG. “He has made a good comeback in a Listed race and is a very nice horse. Looking to the future, we will have to speak with the horse’s trainer and owner.”
