Samitar Wins Again

Winner of the Grade I Belmont Garden City Stakes and Irish Thousand Guineas last year, quality mare Samitar (4m Rock of Gibraltar x Aileen’s Gift, by Rainbow Quest) added another win to her resume when taking out the $100,000 Speed Boat Stakes at Saratoga on Sunday. Prepared by Chad Brown, Samitar turned in a tenacious effort to win the 1 and 1/16^th mile contest by a neck and has the overall record of six wins from 19 starts earning a tick over $US1.1million in prizemoney. Samitar is a half-sister to Nijoom Dubai and is from the Rainbow Quest mare Aileen’s Gift, a half-sister to the dam of Group II winner Shaweel.
