Santa Anita Winner for Scat Daddy

Commander King (Scat Daddy) winning at Santa Anita

Improving three year-old Commander King (3g Scat Daddy x Trizelle, by Malibu Moon) scored a tenacious victory at Santa Anita on Saturday.

Fifth on debut last October and subsequently claimed and transferred into the John Sadler stable, Commander King tracked the leaders in the 1 and 1/8th mile maiden on turf before hitting the front and fighting off all challengers to win by a neck.

Raced by Hronis Racing, Commander King is the second winner for Trizelle, who traces back to 1986 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year, Too Bald.
