Scat Daddy Leads US Freshman Sires

With a late flourish in the last days of 2011, Scat Daddy has surged to the top of the US First Season Sires List to claim a narrow victory and be crowned 2011 US Champion First Season Sire.

A Grade I winner at two and three by a champion two year-old in Johannesburg, Scat Daddy not only took the 2011 first-crop sires’ championship with $1,521,410 in progeny earnings, but also topped the freshman list by individual winners (29) and stakes winners (five).

Scat Daddy was represented by the English Grade II winner Daddy Long Legs and North American Grade III winners Shared Property and Finale, while Lady of Shamrock and Swag Daddy chimed in with Black type wins in the past month.

Scat Daddy’s 2012 fee at Ashford Stud has been set at $17,500.
