Scorpion son Don’t Touch It “could be very good”

Don't Touch It (Scorpion) jumping the last before going on to win a maiden hurdle at Leoaprdstown

Trainer Jessica Harrington believes Don’t Touch It (6g Scorpion-Shandora, by Supreme Leader) is a six-year-old with huge potential following his runaway maiden hurdle victory at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The Michael Ryan-bred son of Scorpion carried J P McManus’s colours to a 13-length success under Barry Geraghty and looks a live contender for graded stakes honours.

“He put it to bed fairly quickly into the straight. He fiddled the third last but apart from that he jumped well and quickened away well,” said Harrington. “I’m not sure what the plan will be but I think he could be very good. He has a lot of gears, and he’s been learning all the time.”

Scorpion was also on the mark at Gowran Park on Thursday when the Willie Mullins-trained Tell Us More (7g Scorpion-Zara´s Victory, by Old Vic) easily won a beginners’ chase in the colours of Gigginstown House Stud.
