Second Australian Winner for Duke of Marmalade

Promising young sire Duke of Marmalade sired his second Australian winner on Thursday when Move Away (2g Duke of Marmalade x Glammis, by Marauding) scored stylishly on debut at Geelong.

A homebred for the Kelly family prepared by David Hayes, Move Away settled third in the four horse field and after getting balanced in the straight charged to the line to win the 1000 metre maiden by three parts of a length under hands and heels riding.

Move Away is a half-brother to Group II placed Miss Hijinx and is one of four winners from Group II winner Glammis, who was second in a Group I STC Golden Slipper.

Move Away is the second Australian first crop winner for multiple Group I winner Duke of Marmalade, who has been in good form in Europe of late where his oldest progeny are three year-olds and include recent French stakes-winners Childa and Morning Frost.
