Second Grade One Win for Maraton

Danehill’s Group I winning son Holy Roman Emperor has sired Group I winners in any number of countries and has a star performer in Brazil at present with exciting colt Maraton (3c Holy Roman Emperor x Virgo Dancer, by Fantastic Dancer) claiming his second win at the highest level in the Grade I Grande Premio Adhemar de Almeida Prado last weekend at Cidade Jardim.

The talented colt made it back to back Grade I wins when taking the 1600 metre turf feature by a head, his third win from seven starts.

Holy Roman Emperor shuttled initially to Australia in the first years of his stud career before switching to Brazil in South America for several seasons.

Maraton is the first South American Grade I winner for Holy Roman Emperor and is his seventh overall.
