Simcock filly wins on debut for Camelot

Khalifa Dasmal’s colours were carried to an impressive debut success by Lady Of Shalott (2f Camelot-Silent Act, by Theatrical) at Yarmouth on Tuesday.

It was another impressive first-crop success for Camelot as the David Simcock-trained filly hit the front in the final furlong of he mile novices’ contest, finishing two and three-quarter lengths clear of the field.

Ron Wood, analysing the race for the Racing Post, commented: “This was a really quite impressive start, (Lady Of Shalott) cruising into contention before finding plenty. She became just a second successful 2yo newcomer from 24 such runners for David Simcock this season, and the other winner, Teppal, followed up. This filly could be smart.”

Bred by Bob and Pauline Scott, Lady Of Shalott was bought for 80,000gns at Tattersalls by Mark Crossman last October.
