Former champion three year-old Haradasun has been quietly chipping away with a number of promising types and added another to the tally when the Greg Eurell trained two year-old Harquila (2f Haradasun x Tequila Knowledge, by Knowledge) scored on debut at Bendigo on Wednesday.
Tuned up with a recent barrier trial second, Harquila proved too fast and too professional in forging clear to win the 1000 metre two year-old fillies maiden by more than a length.
“She did it well,” said Greg Eurell.
“She’s always shown a lot of ability. She’s not a big robust girl, but she has speed.”
Speed is the number one asset for a successful racehorse, so she’s been blessed there!
A $45,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Slade Bloodstock from the draft of Fairhill Farm, Harquila was bred by Mike O’Donnell at Fairhill Farm and is the third winner from stakes-winner Tequila Knowledge, a grand-daughter of Italian Group I winner Mariella.
Haradasun stands at the bargain fee of $8,800 this spring and is the sire of exciting two year-old Prince Harada and promising HK based three year-old My Favourite.
