A $250,000 Keeneland September purchase, Red Rifle runs for WinStar Farm and Twin Creeks Racing Stable and is from smart Grade II placed stakes-winner May Night.
Also winning on the same program was Imagining (5h Giant’s Causeway x Daydreaming, by AP Indy), who resumed from a long lay-off to win the 1 and 1/18th mile allowance by more than three lengths.
Grade I placed as a three year-old when second in the Hollywood Derby, the Claude McGaughey trained entire has the overall record of four wins and three seconds from nine starts and could easily be winning a stakes race this time around if things go his way.
