Improving mare Tukiyo (4m Haradasun x Star of Gibraltar, by Danehill) turned in a bold front running performance to score a tenacious victory in the Listed BRC Nudgee Quality at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The Lacey Morrison trained four year-old led all the way from barrier two for Tegan Harrison, fighting on in the run to the line to win the 1200 metre sprint by a short head.
Passed in shy of her $50,000 reserve at Magic Millions, Tukiyo has now won four of nine starts earning $157,500 in prizemoney.
She is the best of three winners from stakes-placed Star of Gibraltar, a sister to Group III winner Offenbach and three-quarter sister-in-blood to champion race horse and sire Rock of Gibraltar.
Tukiyo is the second stakes-winner for Haradasun, a former Champion 3YO Miler whose oldest progeny are four year-olds.
