Australian bred filly Acrostar (3f Danehill Dancer x Nova Star, by Iglesia) opened her Black Type account when scoring in the Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes at Kenilworth on Sunday.
Prepared by Justin Snaith, Acrostar won the 1400 metre contest by a length and has now two of seven starts.
A $340,000 Inglis Easter purchase for James Bester Bloodstock from the Coolmore draft, Acrostar runs for Mrs Sabine Plattner and is the first winner for Group I Tatts Winter Stakes winner Nova Star.
Nova Star has a yearling filly by Encosta de Lago and was covered last spring by High Chaparral after missing the year before.
Acrostar is from the last Australian bred crop of foals by veteran sire Danehill Dancer.
