South American Grade I Winner for Scat Daddy

A sire sensation in South America with progeny making an impression right around the world, Scat Daddy added another Grade I quinella to his resume when Cimalta (3f Scat Daddy x La Cimarra, by North Air) defeated Kit Kat (3f Scat Daddy x Kossanova, by Fly So Free) to win the Grade I Clasico Arturo Lyon Pena at Club Hipico in Chile.

Trained by Guillermo Aguirre, Cimalta did best in a testing finish to the 1600 metre turf feature snatching the victory by a nose with more than seven lengths back to the third horse.

Cimalta has won four of five starts and is a half-sister to Grade I winner El Farrero from the good producing stakes-winner La Cimarra.

Cimalta is the 12th individual Grade I winner for Scat Daddy, who also featured recently at Royal Ascot with his brilliant filly Acapulco taking the Grade II Queen Mary Stakes.
