Spiritjim (4c Galileo-Hidden Silver, by Anabaa) looked a contender for top honours over a mile and a half after winning the G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly on Sunday.
The Pascal Bary-trained Galileo colt has shown improvement throughout his career and, having scored in G3 company on his previous run, put in a career-best effort to beat Now We Can at Chantilly.
Bary told JDG: “At three he didn’t have the mental or physical strength that he has now. He had a tough race today and his next start will be in the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.”
The four-year-old, who was sold for 310,000 euros as a yearling at Arqana to the MAB Agency, was bred by Haras des Sablonnets and partners.
