Giant’s Causeway featured with a stakes double on Sunday courtesy of Worth Repeating and Blueberry Smoothie.
Winner of the Grade III Tokyo City Cup at Santa Anita last year, Worth Repeating (6h Giant’s Causeway x Lady Nichola, by AP Indy) recaptured his best form to win the $100,000 Ralph M Hinds Handicap at Fairplex Park by an impressive five lengths.
Now trained by Michael Machowsky, Worth Repeating has the overall record of four wins and eight placings from 26 starts and just shy of $300,000 in prizemoney.
Worth Repeating is from Lady Nichola, a daughter of French Grade 1 winner Macoumba, a half-sister to Grade 1 winning sire Septieme Ciel.
Scoring her first Black Type success was Blueberry Smoothie (2f Giant’s Causeway x Shampoo, by Gulch), who made it two wins ad a second from just three starts when taking out the $49,500 Barbara Shinpoch Stakes at Emerald Downs.
Trained by Tom Wenzel, the filly bolted in to win the six and a half furlong contest by five and a half lengths and is from stakes-winning Gulch mare Shampoo.
