A step up to black-type company is on the cards for Lady Allegra (2f Canford Cliffs-Puck´s Castle, by Shirley Heights) after the Canford Cliffs filly ran out a facile winner at Navan on Friday night.
Patrick Prendergast’s charge, who finished second on her debut at Fairyhouse five days earlier, took the five-furlong maiden by two and a quarter lengths under Chris Hayes.
“She’s a nice filly. She was a bit green the last day and got very unbalanced in the ridges at Fairyhouse. They also went slow and she was caught for inexperience,” Hayes told irishracing.com. “She’s a genuine Stakes filly and I think Patrick might have a Listed or Group race in England in mind for her.
“She has so much natural speed that she could come back to five furlongs but she’d have no problem over five, six or seven furlongs.”
