Listed glory for Danehill Dancer

November 3, 2013

Francis Of Assisi (3c Danehill Dancer-Queen Cleopatra, by Kingmambo) brought more black-type success for Danehill Dancer at Leopardstown on Sunday.

Danehill Dancer suits the NIJINSKY branch, siring classic winners Speciosa, from a mare by SKY CLASSIC, and Again from a mare by KAHYASI. He also has Group winners with dams by GREEN DANCER, CAERLEON and ROYAL ACADEMY.

Alfred Nobel is inbred 3×4 to Danzig, and so is Walk On Bye. The classic-placed French filly Tamazirte has a second dam by GREEN DESERT.

Danehill Dancer already has Group winners from daughters of SADLER’S WELLS, GALILEO, IN THE WINGS, OLD VIC, SADDLERS’ HALL and ENTREPRENEUR.

The STORM BIRD branch is shaping up well, he has a Gr.1 winner out of a daughter of BLUEBIRD and another out of a mare by CATRAIL, while another Gr.1 winner is out of a GIANT’S CAUSEWAY mare.

The classic-placed Westphalia is out of a mare by LYPHARD, who also sired the second dam of Mastercraftsman. His 2013 Gr.3 winner Esoterique has a dam by Lyphard’s son DANCING BRAVE. ALZAO is broodmare sire of Choisir’s Gr.1 winner Olympic Glory, and he sired the second dam of Jeremy. LINAMIX is the broodmare sire of Alnadana.

Danehill Dancer’s accomplished daughter Lillie Langtry is out of a DARSHAAN mare, while his high-class son Hillstar is out of a mare by Darshaan’s son MARK OF ESTEEM and his Gr.3 winner Grand Ducal has a dam by SHIRLEY HEIGHTS.

He also had a 2013 2yo Stakes winner with a dam by DALAKHANI.

Inbreeding to SHARPEN UP features in some of Danehill Dancer’s better winners, creating 3×3 in his good winners out of mares by DIESIS and SELKIRK. The Group-winners Lady Dominatrix and Anna Pavlova are inbred 3×4.

Danehill Dancer sired Gr.1 winner Alexander Tango out of a WOODMAN mare, while Mastercraftsman is out of a granddaughter of MISWAKI. ZAFONIC sired the dam of the Dewhurst Stakes runner-up Fast Company and the second dam of Alnadana, while MACHIAVELLIAN is the broodmare sire of Gr.3 winner Justaroundmidnight.

BLUSHING GROOM sired Memory’s second dam and he has Group winners from daughters of ARAZI, NASHWAN, RAHY (2) and RAINBOW QUEST.

His classic winners Dancing Rain and Speciosa both have second dams by ALLEGED.

ROBERTO’s son LEAR FAN sired the dam of Danehill Dancer’s Gr.3 winner Drumfire and the second dam of the high-class Planteur.

A fast branch of the Hyperion male line – SING SING - has supplied him with Monsieur Bond (dam by SONG) and Indesatchel (dam by PETORIUS).

With three Stakes winners to their credit, plus the classic-placed Foxtrot Romeo, mares by WARNING merit serious consideration. Alfred Nobel’s second dam is another daughter of this top miler.

It is significant that Danehill Dancer has several Stakes winners inbred 4×4 to CARO.
