In common with those very successful stallions Kingmambo and Chester House, Fusaichi Pegasus is by Mr Prospector out of a grand-daughter of Northern Dancer. Most of Kingmambo’s Gr.1 winners are inbred in the first four generations to Northern Dancer. Fusaichi Pegasus’ first crop produced the Gr.1 winner Bandini from a DIXIELAND BAND mare and the Belmont Stakes runner-up Andromeda’s Hero from a STORM BIRD mare. His foals out of DIXIELAND BAND mares also include Distinctive Dixie, a Gr.2 winner, so more daughters of Dixieland Band are called for.

The DEPUTY MINISTER branch is also one to consider. His smart Japanese colt Fusaichi Seven has a dam by Deputy Minister’s sire VICE REGENT and the multiple Graded winner International Star has a dam by Deputy Minister’s son FRENCH DEPUTY. Fusaichi Pegasus also sired the Gr.1 winner Roman Ruler from a SILVER DEPUTY mare and his Gr.1 winner Champ Pegasus is out of a daughter of SALT LAKE. His talented sprinter Heitai is another out of a grand-daughter of DEPUTY MINISTER.

Fusaichi Pegasus has a solid record with daughters of STORM CAT, with the likes of Pursuit of Glory, Arashi Cat, Cumin and Obsequious all being placed in Graded company. His Gr.1-placed daughter Hamsa is out of a HENNESSY mare, the Gr.3-placed Powhatan County is out of a STORMIN FEVER mare and the Gr.2-placed Fusaichi Red has a dam by D’WILDCAT. He also sired the Gr.2 winner Premier Pegasus from a mare by SUMMER SQUALL.

Fusaichi Pegasus has a stakes winner out of a mare by NUREYEV, who also sired the second dams of two of his Gr.3 winners, including Ravel. Fusaichi Pegasus sired the talented Ex Caelis from a NIJINSKY mare. The sires of the first two dams of Fusaichi Pegasus’ black-type winners include NIJINSKY, SKY CLASSIC, GENEROUS, SEATTLE DANCER, SHADEED, BALDSKI and STRAWBERRY ROAD.

3×3 inbreeding to DANZIG appears in his Gr.2-placed son The Roundhouse, out of a mare by BELONG TO ME.

Two of Fusaichi Pegasus’ black-type winners are out of SEATTLE SLEW line mares and Bandini’s second dam is by SEATTLE SLEW. Fusaichi Pegasus has also sired the Gr.3 winner Ravel from a daughter of A.P. INDY.

The NEVER BEND branch has possibilities. Fusaichi Pegasus has Group winners out of an IRISH RIVER mare and a high-class Hong Kong performer out of a MILL REEF mare.

Inbreeding to MR PROSPECTOR is another option. His Graded-placed daughter Fusaichiswonderful is inbred 2×3, while Roman Ruler and the Graded-placed colts Budge Man, Flying Private, Web Gem and Powhatan County are all inbred 2×4.

Witten is out of a RED RANSOM mare, and DYNAFORMER is another ROBERTO stallion who appears as the broodmare sire of one of his Stakes winners. Dynaformer also sired the second dam of his Gr.1-placed juvenile Riveting Reason. The Gr.2 winner International Star is inbred 4 x 4 to HALO.

Fusaichi Pegasus has two Graded performers from only two starters out of KNOWN FACT mares, including the Gr.1-placed Riveting Reason.

His Gr.2 winner My Jen has a dam by HOLY BULL.
