There is every reason for expecting this good-looking Derby winner to shine as a stallion, especially now that another Derby-winning son of Montjeu has sired the stupendous Treve. An impressive winner at two, Pour Moi showed his brilliant acceleration with last-to-first victories in the Prix Greffulhe and the Derby at three. With a son of Sadler’s Wells as his sire and a dam by Darshaan, Pour Moi is similarly bred to Gr.1 sire High Chaparral.

High Chaparral works with further MILL REEF blood, as with the very smart Western Hymn, inbred 3×3 to DARSHAAN, and the Gr.1 performer Magadan, inbred 4×3 to SHIRLEY HEIGHTS. Pour Moi’s talented daughter Only Mine is inbred 3×4 to DARSHAAN and he has another winning 2yo inbred 3×3.

The BLUSHING GROOM line should work well with Pour Moi. Montjeu sired the Derby winner Authorized from a mare by SAUMAREZ, and also had stakes winners with mares by ARAZI, NASHWAN, RAHY and RAINBOW QUEST.

The MR PROSPECTOR line should work well, as Montjeu sired triple classic winner Camelot from a KINGMAMBO mare, Derby winner Motivator and St Leger winner Leading Light from GONE WEST mares, Grand Prix de Paris winner Gallante from a MACHIAVELLIAN mare and Irish Derby winner Frozen Fire from a WOODMAN mare. Montjeu also sired three Group winners from ZAFONIC mares.

Montjeu and High Chaparral have Group winners out of DANEHILL mares and Montjeu’s brilliant son Camelot has a second dam by DANEHILL. Montjeu has also enjoyed classic success with a daughter of DANSILI. Pour Moi has already sired the Group-placed Stakes winner Only Mine from a ROCK OF GIBRALTAR mare.

Montjeu sired the Irish Oaks winner Bracelet and the Gr.2 winner Wading from a mare by GREEN DESERT. CAPE CROSS is the broodmare sire of High Chaparral’s Gr.2 winners Western Hymn and The Miniver Rose.

Mares by ANABAA should be ideal for Pour Moi, as Motivator owes the brilliant Treve to a daughter of this champion sprinter. ANABAA mares have also produced a Gr.1 Australian winner to Authorized and a Gr.3 winner to Hurricane Run.

Mares by PENNEKAMP, a son of BERING, are successful with the Sadler’s Wells line, producing the Gr.1 winner Jan Vermeer to Montjeu and two Gr.1 winners to Galileo. Another son of Montjeu has a Gr.3 winner out of a BERING mare.

LYPHARD sired the second dam of Authorized, while his sons PHARLY and BELLYPHA also sired the second dams of some of Montjeu’s Gr.1 winners. LINAMIX is the broodmare sire of the high-class Montmartre and also of the very smart Ectot, a son of Hurricane Run.

Montjeu has two stakes winners out of CAERLEON mares. High Chaparral has the outstanding So You Think from a grand-daughter of NIJINSKY and the St Leger second Unsung Heroine from a grand-daughter of CAERLEON.

NUREYEV appears in the pedigrees of High Chaparral’s Gr.1 performers Wigmore Hall, Beach Bunny and Lady Lupus.

Authorized has two black-type fillies out of GALILEO mares, including the classic-placed Rehn’s Nest, which are inbred 3×3 to SADLER’S WELLS. Pour Moi could be considered for mares with SADLER’S WELLS blood. His Group-placed daughter Only Mine has a second dam by BARATHEA, creating 3×4 to SADLER’S WELLS.

Montjeu had three talented winners out of mares by NUREYEV’s son PEINTRE CELEBRE.

SHARPEN UP is a path to follow with Pour Moi, as he sired the second dams of Motivator and Hurricane Run. Montjeu’s sons have Group winners out of mares by SELKIRK, DIESIS, ELMAAMUL and SURE BLADE.
