Stay Thirsty Colt Wins Grade Three

Top class colt Coal Front (3c Stay Thirsty x Miner’s Secret, by Mineshaft) added another big win to his resume when taking out the $300,000 Grade III Gallant Bob Stakes at Parx Racing on Saturday.

The Todd Pletcher trained colt had won three of his four previous starts including the Grade II Amsterdam Stakes and kept up the good work with this professional effort.

The slick son of Stay Thirsty assumed the lead and defied all challengers to win the six furlong sprint by half a length in a brisk 1:08.94.

A $575,000 OBS April Sale purchase, Coal Front runs for Robert La Penta and Head of Plains Partners, who purchased a share in the colt privately earlier this year. He has now won four races from five starts earning $411,000.

Coal Front is a half-brother to stakes-winner Conquest Titan from Miner’s Secret, a half-sister to Grade III winner Woodlander.
