Henrythenavigator had a smart first-time out winner at Lingfield on Thursday when the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Chengho (2c Henrythenavigator-Christmas In Aiken, by Affirmed) scored on his debut.

The half-brother to Harlan’s Holiday, who was sold by Norman Williamson’s Oak Tree Farm at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale, finished with a wet sail under Jimmy Fortune to get up by three-quarters of a length.

“He’s done it well. It took a while for the penny to drop and I don’t know how good they were, but he gave me a good feel,” Fortune told www.racingpost.com
