Bokan (Soldier Of Fortune) winning at Bro Park

More Swedish black-type for Soldier Of Fortune

The 2016 Swedish Derby hero Bokan (4g Soldier Of Fortune-Paree, by Desert Prince) brought a second Bro Park black-type victory in two weeks for Soldier Of Fortune on Sunday. Wido Neuroth’s charge stormed clear in the home straight to finish a length and a half in front of Funinthesand (7g Footstepsinthesand-Funny Legend, by Funambule). The trainer’s son Jan-Erik was in the saddle and commented: “The horse felt strong today and I took my chance by going early in the race.” A representative of owners Stall Kalas was hopeful that Bokan could bring more success for Soldier Of Fortune next season. “Wido said this will be his last start of the season,” said the owner. “Bokan has put in some good efforts in big races this year. Hopefully he can come back and fight against the very best next season.” Bred by Dr Frederic Flechner, Bokan was scoring a fortnight after his stablemate Amie Noire (5m Soldier Of Fortune– Autriche, by Acatenango) took the Listed Coolmore Matchmaker Stakes at Bro Park.
