Table Rocks for Fastnet

There was more European black-type success for Fastnet Rock on Thursday when the Aidan O’Brien-trained Table Rock (3c Fastnet Rock-Small Sacrifice, by Sadler´s Wells) captured the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket.

The improving three-year-old, an easy Curragh handicap winner on his previous start, saw off some useful opposition to land the Listed contest despite concerns about the rain-softened ground.

“He got a bit further back than he wanted, but he responded well to Ryan (Moore). He’s raced on yielding at the Curragh, but there’s been a lot of rain and the ground was a concern,” said Coolmore’s UK representative, Kevin Buckley.
