Tapestry brings Hong Kong Riches for Holy Roman

Holy Roman Emperor hit the headlines in Hong Kong on Sunday when Rich Tapestry (5g Holy Roman Emperor-Genuine Charm, by Sadler's Wells) captured the HKG2 Sprint Cup at Sha Tin.

The Moyglare Stud-bred five-year-old, trained by Michael Chang, was partnered by Olivier Doleuze to wear down the front-runner Go Baby Go to prevail in a photo with a career-best performance.

“This is his best win. It’s very good to beat some of the best sprinters in Hong Kong,” said Chang, who could send his charge overseas next season. “No plans are locked in yet because I will talk to the owners first but I would be tempted to take him to Dubai.”

Doleuze said this could be a good option for Rich Tapestry. “It was great to see him win today. I think this might be his last race for the season and going to Dubai would not be a bad plan as he is a one class better horse on the dirt," said the jockey.

It could be a big few days for Holy Roman Emperor, who has a leading contender in Britain for Sunday’s G1 1,000 Guineas in Maureen (3f Holy Roman Emperor-Exotic Mix, by Linamix).
