Gestut Ammerland’s home-bred dual classic heroine Golden Lilac (4f Galileo-Grey Lilas, by Danehill) made a brilliant seasonal comeback on Sunday when winning a classy renewal of the G1 Prix d’Ispahan at Longchamp.
The Galileo filly, successful in last season’s G1 French 1,000 Guineas and G1 French Oaks, looked to be better than ever as she comfortably beat last season’s G1 Champion Stakes winner Cirrus des Aigles.
“You’d have to say that was probably her best performance on ratings,” trainer Andre Fabre
told www.racingpost.com. “I might supplement her for the G1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes or perhaps wait for the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois. I’ll have to think about it.”
