Three Henrys head to 2,000 Guineas

Following a post-racing gallop at the Curragh on Sunday evening, trainer Aidan O’Brien confirmed that three of his star Henrythenavigators were bound for the G1 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 4.

The trio are Pedro The Great (3c Henrythenavigator-Glatisant, by Rainbow Quest), winner of last season’s G1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes, 2012 G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile hero George Vancouver (3c Henrythenavigator-Versailles Treaty, by Danzig) and G2 Railway Stakes runner-up Cristoforo Colombo (3c Henrythenavigator-La Traviata, by Johannesburg)

O’Brien told the Press Association: “The three Henrys (sons of Henrythenavigator) – Cristoforo Colombo, Pedro The Great and George Vancouver – all worked well and we are really happy with them.

“All three of them will run in the G1 2,000 Guineas. George Vancouver went really well and he’s one to have a fiver on each-way in the Guineas.”

Following his sensational start, Henrythenavigator is standing at Coolmore in Ireland this year for a fee of €30,000.
