Two classy winners for Yeats

The Philip Hobbs-trained Who’s My Jockey (4g Yeats-Scandisk, by Kenmare) continued a great couple of days for Yeats when easily winning at Uttoxeter on Friday. Owned by Paul and Clare Rooney, the four-year-old won a 2m 4f novices’ hurdle by six lengths, prompting a glowing write up in the Racing Post. “A decent novices' hurdle which has been won by some high-class performers within the past ten years, not least Coneygree in 2012. Every single one of the 14 runners in this year's renewal had already shown ability to varying degrees. The winner was impressive, while winners should emerge from those behind,” wrote the Racing Post Analysis. “WHO'S MY JOCKEY, 1-1 in bumpers, looked in need of this longer trip when a promising third of 11 on last month's hurdles debut at this track and stamina certainly came to his aid here. Always prominent before taking over in front three out, he was strongly pressed but kept up the gallop and was pulling right away at the line. Closely related to Hurricane Fly, he has a bright future in his own right and ought to get even further.” Bred by Drumlin Bloodstock, Who’s My Jockey realised €120,000 as a foal. Meanwhile, the previous day Shattered Love (6m Yeats-Tracker, by Bustino) made it two from two over fences when winning a decent 2m 2f chase at Clonmel by seven lengths (pictured). Trained by Gordon Elliott for Gigginstown House Stud, she also boasts successes in a point-to-point, bumper and at Grade level over hurdles. “Jack (Kennedy) said she had no bother with the trip and she travelled away lovely. Her jumping was brilliant the whole way and she never missed a beat,” said Elliott’s assistant Davy Condon. “She has loads of scope and Jack said her jumping is unreal and you'd like to see her on a bigger track.” Shattered Love was bred by Limetree Stud and realised €50,000 as a three-year-old store.
