Off Limits (Mastercraftsman) winning the Gr.3 Noble Damsel Stakes

More US Success for Mastercraftsman Mare

Talented mare Off Limits (5m Mastercraftsman x Ravish, by Efisio) claimed another major victory with a tenacious win in the $200,000 Grade II Athenia Stakes at Belmont on Saturday. Previously prepared by David Wachman in Ireland, for whom she won the Listed Killarney Cairn Rouge Stakes, Off Limits is now owned by Martin Schwartz with Chad Brown training. An impressive last start winner of the $196,000 Grade III Noble Damsel Stakes, Off Limits made it three wins in a row when capturing this 1 and 1/16th mile contest on turf by a neck and has really hit a purple patch. "We gave her time off and Mr. Schwartz purchased this filly and gave it to me and we got in a groove with her,” Brown said. “She never quite looked right in her coat. She trained a little better than she was running, and it was frustrating. We got together and decided to give her an extended vacation and let her acclimate over here. He [Schwartz] is always very patient with his horses and does the right thing with them, and she's the perfect example of that." By dashing grey Danehill Dancer sire Mastercraftsman, Off Limits has won six of 16 starts and is the best of four winners from Ravish, a half-sister to stakes-winner Special Discount.
