Vinnie Roe off mark in style

The brilliant Vinnie Roe sired his first winner on Friday and got off the mark in style when Mumbo Jumbo (4g Vinnie Roe-Top Lot, by Topanoora) was an impressive bumper winner at Gowran Park.

Trained by Mags Mullins for Peter Magnier, the four-year-old was a well-backed favourite when winning by three and three-quarter lengths under James ‘Corky’ Carroll.

“I’m delighted with him and he did it really well. Corky said he would have taken off if he asked him to,” Mullins told www.irishracing.com. “He has a super attitude and answers every question we ask of him. He could be a fair horse but we don’t know where he’ll go next.”

Mumbo Jumbo was bred by John O’Connor and bought by Mullins for 60,000 euros as a foal at Tattersalls Ireland.
