WA Derby Winner for Haradasun

Improving three year-old gelding Respondent (3g Haradasun x Avenida Madero, by Metal Storm), posted a career best performance to win the Group II WATC WA Derby at Ascot in Perth on Saturday.

Prepared by Grant Williams, Respondent was able to best his regular sparring partner Ihtsahym to win the 2400 metre contest by a length and a quarter, taking his overall record to four wins and five placings from 11 starts with prizemoney nearing $480,000.

A homebred for Peters Investments, Respondent is the best of three winners from Group II winning Metal Storm (Fr) mare Avenida Madera.

Respondent has a two year-old full sister and Avenida Madero was covered again by Haradasun last year.

Respondent is one of three stakes-winners for former Champion Three Year Old Miler Haradasun, whose oldest progeny are four year-olds.
