A few hours after Wrote (2c High Chaparral-Desert Classic, by Green Desert) landed the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, High Chaparral was in the limelight across the Atlantic at Leopardstown.
It was the turn of the Dermot Weld-trained Enchanted Evening (5m High Chaparral-Glen Kate, by Glenstal Abbey) to star as she took the Listed Knockaire Stakes in the colours of her breeder, the trainer’s mother Gita Weld.
“She has always had ability and everything went right for her today. She is a beautifully bred filly,” the winning trainer told www.irishracing.com. “She has finished fourth in Group company so it’s important to win with her. That’s her for the season.”
