Talented galloper Winning Cause (5h Giant’s Causeway x Raffishing Look, by Kingmambo) returned to his favourite venue Monmouth to claim another feature win in the $103,000 Grade III Red Bank Stakes.

The Todd Pletcher trained Giant’s Causeway entire turned in a tenacious effort to secure a half length win in the one mile turf contest.

“I expected the speed early on and we sat very easy on the backstretch,” said winning rider Abel Castellano Jr.

“He seemed to find an extra gear coming down the stretch and once he hit the hole, I knew it was going to be really close.”

Raced by Alto Racing, Winning Cause has the overall record of six wins and 10 placings from 27 starts with prizemoney topping $642,000.

Winning Cause is the first winner for Raffishing Look, who comes from the family of Grade I winners Twilight Agenda, Go and Go, Media Puzzle and Refuse to Bend.
