Zoffany off mark in style

Washington DC (2c Zoffany-How’s She Cuttin', by Shinko Forest) provided Zoffany with a hugely-impressive first winner when storming away with a Tipperary maiden on Thursday evening.

The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt, bred by Paul Hyland with Chris and James McHale, stepped up on his debut second at Dundalk to score effortlessly be two and three-quarter lengths. A tilt at black-type company is now understandably on the cards,

"He's a fast horse and travelled very strong. Dundalk is a great place to teach them and the Listed Marble Hill Stakes now looks the right thing for him - I imagine he'll be a G2 Norfolk Stakes horse," O'Brien told irishracing.com. "I had another Zoffany horse run at the Curragh and was very green but they have speed.”

RaceBets reacted by cutting Zoffany to 2/1 favouritism (from 100/30) to be leading first-season sire of 2015.
