Zoffany’s Ventura storms to G3 victory

The Richard Hannon-trained Ventura Storm (3c Zoffany-Sarawati, by Haafhd) recorded his third black-type victory on Sunday when winning the G3 Prix de Reux in Deauville. The Zoffany colt, a 110,000gns breeze-up purchase bred by Laurence Kennedy, proved much too good for his opposition as he came home three and a half lengths clear in the colours of Middleham Park Racing.

Sarah Davey, representing the owners, told JDG: "He is a handy and tough horse and we said to Grégory Benoist to not hesitate early on in the race. He rode the horse superbly. Ventura Storm has quite a few options now and it depends on how he comes out of the race. He is in the G1 St Leger at Doncaster, he’s in the German version and is also in a race in Turkey.”
