Midnight Jet (5g Maxios - Ballinderry Moth, by Yeats) continued his upwardly mobile profile with a comfortable score in a novice hurdle at Galway on Thursday. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding was making it three wins in a row over hurdles following clear-cut victories at Fairyhouse and Killarney in the spring. Ridden once again by Darragh O'Keeffe, Midnight Jet led early on before being headed at the fourth flight. He came up to dispute the lead from three flights out and led narrowly before the last, staying on to win by a length and a quarter. In third was Rosie's Wings (by Wings Of Eagles). De Bromhead said: "He was tough, Darragh gave him a super ride and I'm delighted to get a winner here. "He stays and jumps really well and I'm delighted for Tony and Caroline Head, who are over from Phoenix, Arizona. They’re brilliant supporters of ours and of the game, so it’s lovely to get them a winner here. "Sam Curling recommended him to Tony and the horse has improved the whole time. He seems fairly adaptable ground-wise and with coming here always being the plan, we need to back off him now. "He’s only a novice until the end of November so we'll have to plot a course."
