$625,000 for American Pharoah Colt

Triple Crown hero American Pharoah made his presence felt at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Wednesday when his stunning colt from Ennis Hill sold for $625,000.

Consigned by Coolmore, the star colt was bought by Shamus Mills Bloodstock and is the first foal of Fastnet Rock’s Group III winner Ennis Hill.

Ennis Hill is from a very fast and precocious female family being a full sister to stakes-winner Lake Geneva, who was placed in both the Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond, and this season’s juvenile stakes-winner Acrobat.

A brilliant debut winner of the $500,000 Inglis Nursery, Acrobat is seen as a serious Golden Slipper contender.

Ennis Hill produced a filly by Justify last spring and is now in foal to Pierro.

Other good sales for American Pharoah were a colt from Godiva Rock that made $425,000 to the bid of Tasman Bloodstock and a colt from Ashley’s Kitty that made $320,000 for Kia Ora Stud when bought by Tom Magnier.
