Justify X Champagne Cuddles yearling colt conformation shot

$700,000 Justify colt from Champagne Cuddles

The second crop of Australian yearlings by Triple Crown winner Justify have been popular at Magic Million this week with a colt selling for $700,000 on Friday from Champagne Cuddles, who is now in foal to Home Affairs.

Consigned by Coolmore, the athletic chestnut is the first foal of outstanding Group II winning sprinter Champagne Cuddles and was bought by Kia Ora Stud Pty Ltd/TFI/Annabel Neasham Racing Pty Ltd.

“You can’t deny that Champagne Cuddles is one of the best mares in Australia and her race record speaks for itself,” said Shane Wright of Kia Ora Stud.

“This guy, there’s a lot of Justify in him, but what we loved about him is that so much of the mare Champagne Cuddles is in him too.

“He looks like he’ll go early and go fast. You come to a sale and see a nicely bred colt like that, very happy to be taking him home.

“We have a bit of a different demographic across different colts, but he was one that we really reckon is going to sharp and up early.”

By champion sire Not a Single Doubt from Group I winner Sky Cuddle, Champagne Cuddles won over$1.4million million in prizemoney and was Group I placed four times in the Golden Rose, Flight Stakes, Stradbroke Handicap and Kingsford Smith Cup.

She was purchased by Tom Magnier for $2million at the 2020 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and produced a filly by Wootton Bassett last year and is now in foal to Home Affairs.
