Vancouver ex Arcadia Dream yearling filly conformation shot

$950,000 Filly for Vancouver

Golden Slipper winner Vancouver was the leading first season sire by average and aggregate at the 2019 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale with a filly from Arcadia Dream putting the icing on the cake when selling for $950,000.

Bred by Bob and Sandra Peters and consigned on their behalf by Holbrook Thoroughbreds, the first foal of Group II WATC West Australian Derby winner Arcadia Dream was bought by Godolphin.

Arcadia Dream is a half-sister to this season’s brilliant Group I winning filly Arcadia Queen as well as Group III winner Arcadia Prince and stakes-winner Arcadia Rose.

“(She is from) an elite family. In Arcadia Queen, she has potentially one of the best horses in the country right in the middle of her pedigree - no pressure on!” Godolphin’s Vin Cox told ANZ Bloodstock News.

“I say this slightly tongue-in-cheek in that she is a granddaughter of the great Medaglia d’Oro and I believe Coolmore were under bidders on her, and so they should be, as she is an outstanding filly by a very good stallion of theirs. “We saw her as a magnificent type and we have got a bit of faith in the sireline.”

Vancouver had 14 yearlings average $316,071 with other highlights horses a Vancouver filly from Paprika that made $600,000 and a colt from Secret Silence that made $550,000.
