American Pharoah ex World Map colt selling for $255,000 at the MM National Weanling Sale

American Pharoah Leads Magic Millions First Crop Sires

Triple Crown hero American Pharoah was the leading first crop sire at the 2019 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale at the Gold Coast this week with nine weanlings selling at an average of $134,167.

His best result was achieved by a colt from Irish bred mare World Map that made $255,000.

Consigned by Erinvale Thoroughbreds, he is the third foal of a well related Pivotal mare that comes from the family of Group I winners Sense of Style, Valentine Waltz and leading sire Last Tycoon.

He was bought by Grant Bloodstock, who have been active at this sale purchasing high quality pinhook prospects.

“American Pharoah is the best-performed racehorse to stand at stud in Australia and he has made a flying start with his first crop of northern hemisphere two-year-olds,” Coolmore’s Tom Moore said.

“It comes as no surprise that he would be leading first season sire with his first southern hemisphere-bred weanlings.”

American Pharaoh is back in Australia this spring at a fee of $66,000.
