Australia Filly Gains Second Win In Style

Ardiente (3f Australia - Hoyam, by Royal Applause) defied a penalty when running out a smart winner of Monday’s Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Kempton.

A winner on debut at the track last winter, she returned from a break in July to finish third at Newmarket and remained over a mile on her latest start. She was sent off favourite under Stevie Donohoe and led after two furlongs, quickening as they approached the final furlong. Pushed out, she ran on well to win by two lengths, with another nine lengths back to the third horse.

Trained by Ed Walker for Anthony Oppenheimer, Ardiente was bred at her owner’s Hascombe and Valient Studs and is the first foal out of Listed winner Hoyam.
