Echo Town Filly Registers Allowance Romp
Pocket Sand (2f Echo Town x Tall Timbercowgirl, by Prime Timber) went a perfect two-for-two Friday night with an Allowance romp.
Racing over six furlongs for her second start, Pocket Sand broke strongly and quickly coasted to the front under a firm hold. By the half-mile marker, she had open lengths on the field and it was set to get even bigger from there without much effort from the filly.
Extending her margin in the turn, Pocket Sand was six lengths in front going into the final furlong but the favorite wasn’t done yet. She pulled away to add even more distance with a seven-length advantage at the line and the third-place runner a farther four lengths back.
Trained by Timothy Kreiser, the Joseph Besecker owned runner was bred in New York by Andy Beadnell.
She is a half-sister to the stakes placed Ernie Banker and two other winners from four siblings to race out of three-time winner Tall Timbercowgirl. That mare is a half-sister to the stakes placed Russian Sage with the page including Group I winner Pierre Jourdan and Group II winners Champagne Haze and Morcon.
Pocket Sand is one of 13 winners for Echo Town, whose runners include two stakes winners and four stakes performers – those four stakes performers tying her for eighth among all freshmen.
