Juvenile Winners Keep Coming For No Nay Never

No Nay Never’s terrific run with his juveniles continued on Friday, when Balancing Act (2f No Nay Never - My Lass, by Elmaamul) justified favoritism in the five furlong novice stakes at Thirsk.

The Jedd O’Keeffe-trained filly was last seen finishing second in a similar contest at Ripon and PJ McDonald was back on board on her latest start. Chasing the leaders, the chesnut was pushed along from the two furlong pole and came under further pressure to lead inside the final furlong. She stayed on well to score by three parts of a length.

O’Keeffe, who trains the winner for John Dance, commented after the race, “Balancing Act has gradually learned and is developing physically like a proper sprinter. Hopefully we will see more improvement.”

A half-sister to multiple Stakes winner Mac Love, Balancing Act was bred by Lynn Lodge Stud out of the black-type mare My Lass.
