Promising No Nay Never Filly Gains Second Success

The Simon Crisford-trained Last Surprise (2f No Nay Never - Beta Tauri, by Oasis Dream) defied a penalty to secure her second career success at Chelmsford on Thursday.

An impressive winner on debut in June, the chesnut was sent off favourite under Pat Cosgrave and chased the leader for much of the six furlong contest. Ridden to challenge over a furlong from home, she ran on well to lead inside the final furlong and scored by a length and a quarter.

Owned by Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum, Last Surprise was bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock as a yearling for 72,000gns. Bred by Mrs S Cammidge in partnership with Mrs and Mrs C Booth, she is a grand-daughter of Listed winner Beta, herself a half-sister to Group 1 winners Bago and Maxios.
