Smart Win for Imagining

Talented entire Imagining (5h Giant’s Causeway x Daydreaming, by AP Indy) scored an all the way win in the $100,000 Bowl Game Stakes at Belmont on Thursday. A homebred for the Phipps stable prepared by Claude R McGaughey III, Imagining was a last start sixth in the Grade I Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, but bounced back to his best form here in this easier assignment. Imagining came from off the pace to kick clear at the top of the straight and then held off the late challengers to win the 1 and ¼ mile event on turf by half a length. Imagining has the overall record of six wins from 13 starts with prizemoney of $363,114 and is the first winner for Grade II winner Daydreaming, a sister to the dams of Grade I stars Super Saver and Bluegrass Cat.
