Third Stakes-Winner for Competitive Edge

Exciting young sire Competitive Edge has made a blazing start to his stud career posting his third stakes-winner on Sunday with Sassy Seneca (2f Competitive Edge x Jack’s Flame, by Pulpit) taking out the Shakopee Juvenile Stakes at Canterbury Downs.

Trained by McLean Robertson, Sassy Seneca was the only filly in the field and powered clear to win the six furlong dash by more than four lengths over the colts.

A $90,000 Keeneland September purchase, Sassy Seneca has now won two from two and is the second winner from Jack’s Flame, a half-sister to Grade II winner High Limit.

She is the third stakes-winner for Competitive Edge, who is building an impressive record with 10 winners from 33 starters and 9.1% stakes-winners to runners with Sassy Seneca joined by My Italian Rabbi and Fierce Lady.
