$1.1 Million Colt Leads Justify Fasig-Tipton Offerings

Justify recorded another seven-figure yearling at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale on Monday when Michael Wallace signed for a $1.1 million colt on behalf of M.V. Magnier.

Out of the winning Langfuhr mare Slews Golden Rule, the February 27-born colt offered by Warrendale for breeder Blackstone Farm is a half-brother to the stakes winning Ledecka and two other winners from four to race. Slew’s Golden Rule is one of two stakes producers out of Cool Slew alongside the dam of multiple stakes winner A Bit Of Both with Cool Slew also producing Grade III winner Globetrotter and stakes winner Slew’s Exchange.

“Justify is going really, really well at the moment,” Magnier told Thoroughbred Daily News. “It has been incredible, since we have been here the last few days, the amount of people that have come up and said how well he is doing. He couldn't be going any better than he is going.”

Slews Golden Rule had a colt from the first crop of four-time Grade I winner Tiz The Law this year.

Mike Ryan went to $400,000 for a Hill ‘n’ Dale-offered Justify colt eight hips before the Slews Golden Rule colt, the only other offering for the Triple Crown winner.

The gray colt is the first out of the winning Tapit mare Shadowing, a daughter of the Grade I winner Streaming and a full sister to stakes-placed Soaring. Streaming herself is one of four stakes performers out of Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour’s daughter Teeming.

Justify is off to a fast start with his first crop this year with his seven winners including graded stakes winners on both the dirt and the turf and three stakes performers overall – all the best in their categories among first crop sires. His seven worldwide winners is also third among the freshman class.
