Can'thelpfallin (Starspangledbanner) Wins The Fermoy Maiden At Cork

Another Smart Starspangledbanner Winner For Stack Stable

Can’thelpfallin (3f Starspangledbanner - Acid, by Clodovil) built on a promising debut to run out a smart winner of the Fermoy Maiden at Cork on Wednesday afternoon.

The Fozzy Stack-trained bay finished fourth over course and distance of seven furlongs last month and Mark Enright once again rode the daughter of Starspangledbanner towards the back of the field. Improving into midfield from halfway, she was pushed along approaching the two furlong marker and made good headway to lead inside the final furlong, winning by three parts of a length.

The Fozzy Stack stable is in fine form, helped by some exciting types by Starspangledbanner. Hermana Estrella (Starspangledbanner) landed a Group 3 on debut at the weekend, while Cheerupsleepyjean (Starspangledbanner) impressed in a Curragh maiden and fellow juvenile Castle Star (Starspangledbanner) landed a Stakes contest.

Owned by Mrs Paul Shanahan, Can’thelpfallin was bred by Manister House Stud and has a two-year-old full-brother in training with Andrew Balding.
