Camelot Colt Wins On Return

Surrajah (2c Camelot - Sharaarah, by Oasis Dream) justified strong market support to make a winning return at Chelmsford on Thursday.

The Tom Clover-trained bay, who was last seen in August, was stepping up to seven furlongs for the first time and was sent off favourite under David Probert. He raced in midfield for much of the way and switched right to challenge approaching the final furlong. Staying on well to lead 100 yards from home, he won by a length on the line.

Owned by Raj Matharu and Suresh Sivagnanam, Surrajah was bred by Camas Park and Lynch Bages. He is a half-brother to two highly-rated winners in Moss Gill (No Nay Never) and Ulshaw Bridge (High Chaparral).
