Fastnet Rock Colt Justifies Lofty Entries At Newmarket

Movin Time (3c Fastnet Rock - Time On, by Sadler’s Wells) produced an impressive performance on his three-year-old return to win Thursday’s ten furlong maiden at Newmarket.

Second on both his starts as a two-year-old, the Roger Varian-trained colt was sent off favourite under Jack Mitchell. Racing close to the pace throughout, he was shaken up to lead approaching the final furlong and soon went clear, scoring by an easy four lengths.

A step up in class may now be on the cards for Movin Time, who holds entries in the Irish Derby and the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot. Bought by his trainer as a yearling for 170,000gns, he races in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum and was bred by W & R Barnett Ltd.

Out of Group 2 heroine Time On (Sadler’s Wells), the son of Fastnet Rock is bred on the same cross as Group 1 performers Diamondsandrubies (Fastnet Rock), Somehow (Fastnet Rock) and Torcedor (Fastnet Rock).
