Fastnet Rock Filly Plays Starring Role On Aqueduct Debut

Star Devine (3f Fastnet Rock - Stars At Night, by Galileo) announced herself as a smart prospect when quickening home well to make a winning debut at Aqueduct on Thursday.

Trained by Jorge Abreu for Lawrence Goichman, the daughter of Fastnet Rock raced at the back of the field in the early stages of the six furlong maiden. Trevor McCarthy asked his mount to quicken turning for home and she dually obliged, racing home strongly to win by a length and a half.

A fast time saw Star Devine earn ‘TDN Rising Star’ status, her performance made more impressive by the two more experienced market leaders chasing her home.

Purchased by Mike Ryan as a yearling for 200,000gns, Star Devine becomes the first winner bred by Rockhart Trading out of Stars At Night, herself a winning half-sister to Blue Bunting. A yearling full-brother to Star Devine sold for 95,000gns at Tattersalls last October.
